Burrows And Allen Island
Launch from Washington Park in Anacortes, explore the tide pools and wonderful rocky coast of Burrows and Allen Islands. One option is to continue on to Deception Pass State Park, past the see caves. We will ride the spring currents to speed our way.
This trip involves fast currents. Expect eddy lines, minor tide rips, small whirlpools and generally bumpy conditions. This is the best place I know in which to learn about strong San Juan Islands currents.
The trip also involves magnificent scenery, sea life, rocky outcrops, cliff-side paddling and a lighthouse.
