James, Decatur and Blakely Islands

Launch from Washington Park in Anacortes and cross to James Island, where we will camp for two nights.

The next day we will circumnavigate Blakely, maybe play a litle in Obstruction Pass,  and stop by tmy favorite lunch counter at the marina.  We will linger in the great outdoors a while longer before our return to over-civilization, and head toward the south end of Lopez to visit the Kimball Preserve on Decatur and/or Watmough Bay, our local National Monument (hopefully for a little while longer).  Then we ride the currents back to Washington Park, perhaps with a detour past Burrows and Allen Islands.

This paddle involves two 3 mile crossings of Rosario Strait and currents of two knots or more.  Paddlers must be experienced with crossings, paddling 15 nm,  and winds to 15 knots.
