Lower Green (Class III)

Come join in for a lap on the Lower Gorge of the Green River! This is a great and scenic run for a strong beginner to intermediate paddler.

The normal run is from Franklin Bridge to Flaming Geyser State Park. You can reference the last portion of this description (Class III-II) on American Whitewater.

Ideal flows will be 1000-1500 cfs. In the event of flows higher than 1700 cfs we will look to move to another venue.

Expect a fun, supportive time whether you out for a chill lap or stepping it up. There are plenty of eddies to catch, waves to surf, and laughs to be had!

If you are unsure of your ability to run this section, here are some other area runs you can use to help decide:
-You feel confident and seek out challenging and fun lines on the Skykomish - Split to Big Eddy section
-You feel confident and seek out challenging and fun lines on the South Fork of the Snoqualmie.
-If you've run the Headworks section of the Green, felt comfortable and are looking for a step up.
-You've paddled in Class II+ and III and are looking for more experience.

Don't worry, this isn't an exhaustive list and it's not a standard. If you're still unsure if this is the run for you but want to get on this section of the Green please contact me. We'll find a way to get you out there to have a fun and safe time!

(There is the option of a put-in below Paradise ledge for those that may want to skip the first set of rapids, typically the most challenging section.)

Whitewater hard shell kayaks/canoes, whitewater inflatable kayaks, and whitewater packrafts are all welcome. Hard shell kayaks will need stern float bags installed and inflated. (Contact me if you need some, I may have spares!)

Dry suits are strongly recommended, adequate cold water immersion protection required. Appropriately rated and serviceable PFD's and helmets are also required.

Expect to meet at 11am at Flaming Geyser State Park, back parking lot located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/eveJyHtdq4nYKEh66

We'll greet, organize, get suited up, and will be leaving to set shuttle by 11:30am

I'll send out an email one week prior to the trip to finalize any details but if you have any questions before then please let me know!
