Thank you for your input Dave. What resource do you use for current predictions in the Sound?

Hi Scott, Sounds like a great plan. Alas I will not be able to join you. My sources indicate there is very little current most of that day, so all should go according to plan, weather permitting. However my experience along that stretch of Orcas is that the current along shore is often in the opposite direction to what it is out in mid channel. At least, on a big flood. What I expected to be a good current ride turned out to actually be a bit of a slog, but a pleasant and quite scenic one. Dave

Greetings ~ I *hope* to paddle Doe Bay to North Beach (~ 10.75 miles) around Orcas Island on 15 Feb. By my calculations the current should be amenable to this at 8 AM that day. Everything is dependent on the weather though. I don't have a Plan B for bad weather.
Is anyone interested in joining me?
